Detained Medal of Valor Winner Col. Ariel Querubin Registers as a Voter in La Union

13 May 2009

Detained Medal of Valor awardee Col. Ariel Querubin, who is under detention for alleged complicity in a Marine mutiny in 2006 has completed the first step in his dream to mount a senatorial run next year. Querubin obtained temporarily permission from the AFP leadership to go back to his hometown of Bauang, La Union early this morning to register as a voter.

It is indicative of the high regard for Colonel Querubin that he was not handcuffed or otherwise physically restrained for the duration of his temporary furlough. The soft-spoken Querubin was visibly happy and in high spirits.

These are the video clips of Col. Querubin's brief homecoming from GMAnews.tv:

Querubin is now back in his detention cell in Camp Aguinaldo.
