'Foxy Knoxy' Amanda Knox Begins Defense Testimony in Perugia, Italy — For the 2007 Sexual Assault and Murder of British Student Meredith Kercher

13 June 2009

American student Amanda Knox, also known as 'Foxy Knoxy,' began her defense testimony in the murder and sexual assault trial involving her and Italian boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito in the Italian town of Perugia.  Knox and Sollecito are charged for their alleged involvement in the murder and sexual assault of British exchange student Meredith Kercher in November 2007 in what has been described as a "drug-fueled sex game."

Another person, Rudy Hermann Guede from the Ivory Coast has earlier been convicted in a separate trial for the same offense and sentenced to thirty (30) years in prison. A half-naked Meredith Kercher was found dead in her bed with a knife wound to her neck.  Court records indicate that Sollecito held Kercher by her wrists with Knox poking her with a knife while Guede sexually assaulted her.
