Lilian de Vera Files Multiple Murder Charges Before the DOJ Against 29 Cops in the Bloody December 2008 Parañaque Shootout

The unconsolable Lilian De Vera whose seven-year-old daughter Lia and husband Alfonso perished in a hailstorm of police bullets, if her witness is to be believed,  has filed a case of multiple murder against 29 policemen who were alleged to be either directly involved in the fatal shooting or, responsible for it because of their position of command.  Sixteen people were killed in the shootout.

Those charged included PNP Deputy Director General Leopoldo Bataoil, Chief Supt. Leocadio Santiago, Jr., Chief of the PNP-Special Action Force (SAF) and Chief Supt. Perfecto Palad, head of the PNP Highway Patrol Group. Some 26 other police officers of various rank who were involved in the operation on the ground against fleeing suspects.  

The slain De Vera father and daughter are obvious victims of mistaken identity.
