CORY AQUINO WATCH
Cory Aquino, 1933 - 2009
President Cory Aquino passsed away at 3:18am today, Saturday, of cardio-respiratory arrest. The announcement was made by his only son, Senator Noynoy Aquino. Cory Aquino was 76 years old.
Cory Aquino's remains were brought to Heritage Park in Taguig. From Heritage, according to Mayor Jejomar Binay, President Aquino's body will be brought to De La Salle University, Greenhills, for public viewing.
Even in death, Cory Aquino's determination is evident. She managed to reach the month of August, the same month her husband died. Ninoy Aquino was gunned down on August 21, 1983 just before stepping on the tarmac of the then Manila International Airport.
Three years later, her soft-spoken but iron-willed widow Cory Aquino would lead the Filipino nation in dismantling the Marcos dictatorship aided by a peaceful people power revolt unprecedented in world history.
God bless you, President Cory Aquino!
