Two US Navy Personnel, 1 Philippine Marine Killed When Their Humvee Struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Indanan, Sulu, September 29, 2009

This piece of news is bound to cause a serious reappraisal of the controversial Visiting Forces Agreement or VFA.

In what appears to be the first instance of fatalities in the Philippines involving US servicemen since 2002, two US Navy personnel were killed along with one Philippine Marine personnel when their Humvee struck an improvised explosive device (IED) early today along the five-kilometer Kagay to Langpas Road in Barangay Kagay, Indanan, Sulu.
