Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio Drops from the 2010 Race to Support Noynoy Aquino's Presidential Bid, Gov. Padaca of Isabela Supports Panlilio's Move

4 September 2009

This morning, Pampanga Governor and prospective presidential candidate for 2010, Among Ed Panlilio, formally announced his withdrawal from the race to give way to the candidacy of Noynoy Aquino.

This was the straightforward announcement coming from Governor Panlilio. Governor Grace Padaca of Isabela was not present during the press conference but Panlilio made clear that his announcement had the support of the Isabela governor.

Panlilio had earlier expressed his readiness to give way to Noynoy several days before erstwhile presidentiable Senator Mar Roxas made his jolting announcement to withdraw from the 2010 race to support Noynoy.
