In today's historic hearing of the vanishing load phenomenon, five senators took up the cudgels for the Filipino consumer when they took turns scolding telephone company officials who attended the probe. The five senators who attended the investigation were Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile, Mar Roxas, Richard Gordon, Joker Arroyo and Bong Revilla.
At one point during the hearing, a female executive of Globe Telecom disclosed that the vanishing load of Senator Enrile was caused by the fact that his account was subscribed to ringstone downloads. The Senate President angrily disputed this by demonstrating that his cellphone uses a default ringtone. The senators present were one in giving warning to the telecom operators to stop their questionable practices otherwise, they risk facing a review of their franchises.
