Habang Kampante ang Deped, Nakakaiyak ang Report Ni Cesar Apolinario Tungkol sa Classroom Shortages (Gising Na, Bayan! Karaingan, Isigaw Na!)

I'm watching QTV's Balitanghali and it shows Cesar Apolinario of GMA-7 doing a reporter's stunt to negotiate the maze of school desks in what he described as a "classroom" for fifty (50) students measuring "dalawang dipa ko."  Aruykopo!

Nagbabayad po tayo ng buwis!  Sa VAT na lang ay hilahod na po tayo!

Ang laki-laki ng kinokolekta sa VAT, tapos malubhang classroom shortages pa rin!

Ang mga estudyante natin pinagtitiis, pinababayaan samantalang mga taga DepEd, kuntodo de airconditioned rooms pa!  Nanaykupo!

Tapos, kapag humingi ka ng kopya sa DepEd NCR ng application for tuition fee increase na isinubmit ng private school, sasabihin nila sa 'yo, "Hindi ka pa pwedeng bigyan dahil hindi pa 'yan public document dahil hindi pa namin ipinoproseso!" 

Mrs. Arroyo, Secretary Jesli Lapus ng Deped!  Ano ba 'yang mga tauhan ninyo?! Ang daming paikot, kulang sa serbisyo! 

Senator Mar Roxas, kailan mo ba kami tutulungan sa problemang ito?!

Magdedeklara kami ng moratorium at rollback sa pagtaas ng tuition fee at titingnan namin kung sino ang tunay na kakampi ng maliliit na Pilipino!

Mga kababayan, gising na!  Iparinig sa gobyerno ang pagkadismaya natin sa sitwasyong ito!

Sobra na!  Tama na!  Tigilan na!  Saan napupunta ang collections sa eVAT? Maglabas dapat ngayon mismo ng pondo para sa edukasyon, health care at iba pang social services ang gobyerno.  Hindi sa 2010, matagal pa 'yon, NGAYON NA MISMO!

A 'Thank You' Message to the Office of Sen. Mar Roxas

I just finished talking over the phone (just a few minutes ago) with Mr. Luis Abad, legislative staff of Senator Mar Roxas. 

I called up their office two days ago (May 19, Tuesday) and I was able to talk with Mr. Abad and, at my request, he promised me that they would follow up my problem with the DepEd NCR regarding the documents I was seeking regarding the application for tuition fee increase filed by the private school where my youngest child is studying.

I am happy to report that Mr. Abad informed me just a while ago that they have called up the DepEd NCR and that the DepEd NCR has promised to give them copies of the documents I was asking. My understanding is that they will be picking up the documents from the DepEd NCR.

Thank you to Mr. Luis Abad and to Senator Mar Roxas. Salamat po at hindi ninyo ako binigo sa unang hakbang ng pagkilala sa karapatan ng ating mga magulang at mag-aaral.

Ang kapirasong karanasan po nating ito ay patunay na kapag tayo po ay kumilos ay pwedeng may mangyari; kapag hindi po tayo kumilos, may mangyayari pa rin — 'yun nga lang, hindi maganda —  patuloy tayong maaagrabyado ... patuloy tayong aabusuhin ... patuloy tayong hindi irerespeto!

Ang problema lang po sa DepEd, kapag lumapit ka, ang itatanong agad nila, "Ano'ng school mo, public, private?"

At kapag sinabi mong "private," ang sasabihin agad sa 'yo (madalas), "Ah, private, wala kaming jurisdiction d'yan, may sarili silang ..."  Nanaykupo!  Di ba't pinasusweldo natin ang mga 'yan?  Bakit hindi tayo binibigyan ng proteksyon?!

Ang private employer ba kapag lumabag sa batas ng SSS at BIR ay walang jurisdiction ang gobyerno?  Di ba meron?!  Eh bakit ang mga private schools ay tila bagang ABOVE THE LAW kung ituring ng DepED?!  

Huwag na po nating pabayaang ganyan ang asal ng mga taga DepEd! Magsama-sama po tayong mga magulang at mag-aaral at ipaglaban ang ating mga karapatan! 

Si Senador Mar Roxas po ang Chairman ng Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture. Tingnan po natin kung hanggang saan niya tayo ipaglalaban.  Tutoo po ba 'yung sigaw niya na "Lalaban tayo!" o ito'y isang slogan niya lang. 

Isa lang po ang maliwanag: Hindi po natin malalaman ang sagot kung hindi po natin aalamin.  Ako po, ordinaryong taong katulad n'yo, ay may nakitang konting liwanag sa hinihingi kong dokumento mula sa DepEd NCR sa tulong ng opisina ni Senator Mar Roxas.  Tutoong kinailangan kong kulitin nang konti si Mr. Luis Abad at ipaliwanang nang husto sa kaniya ang sitwasyon at mabuti naman at kumilos po sila.  Kung ako po ay naghalukipkip na lang, nawalan ng pag-asa at sumuko, meron po bang mangyayari?!  Eh, di wala!

Kailangan po nating mag-assert ng ating mga karapatan.  Sa umpisa lang po siguro ito mahirap.  Kapag nasanay na tayo, masasanay na rin ang mga kinukulit natin na makinig, kumilos at magserbisyo.  'Yan lang po ang paraan kung paanong ang mga maliliit na katulad natin ay pwedeng makatulong sa pagbabago ng lipunan. Patay lang po ang walang pag-asa.  Hindi naman siguro tayo mga baldado.  Lalaban tayo!
