A frantic effort is now underway to save the life of jailed Filipina OFW Cecilia Alcaraz who is in a Taiwanese jail allegedly for killing Taiwanese national Chiu Mei-Yun in September 2007. She was originally sentenced to death by firing squad but the Taiwanese appeals court has recently commuted it to life imprisonment after considering her appeal.
GMA 7's OFW Diaries featured the story of Cecilia Alcaraz last night.
A Walk for Life was staged on May 5 to dramatize the effort to save Cecilia Alcaraz:
