Senator Jamby Madrigal Says It's Not Erik Chua But a High-Profile Personality Who was Responsible for Leak of Hayden Kho Sex Videos

Senator Jamby Madrigal, chairman of the Senate Committee on Youth, Women and Family Relations will lead the investigation into the Hayden Kho sex videos scandal on Thursday, May 28. Joining Jamby's committee is the Committee on Public Information and Mass Media headed by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.  

Senator Madrigal claimed today that it was not Erik Johnston Chua who was responsible for leaking the Hayden Kho sex videos but a "high-profile personality" who purchased and distributed the videos.

Madrigal's information runs counter to early reports from various sources that point to Erik Chua as the culprit.  These include Hayden Kho himself, Kho's lawyer, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Dr. Vicki Belo and her lawyer, Atty. Adel Tamano and OMB Chairman Edu Manzano. 

Although he has not come out publicly with everything he knows, Chua has issued a statement yesterday and has given an interview with Jay Ruiz flatly denying the accusations against him.

Hayden Kho Says, "I Apologize ..." Katrina Halili Answers, "Apology Not Accepted!"

Dr. Hayden Kho has issued this statement of apology (I pieced this together from the video clip below the statement):

... I sincerely apologize for the harm it has done to other parties. I must emphasize that there was no malice on my part, or intention to hurt anyone with these recordings.  I deplore the fact that without my knowledge and consent, these recordings were uploaded on the internet, downloaded, reproduced in optical media form, distributed, and sold to the public.  

I own up to my responsibility as a professional, and have decided to suspend my practice of medicine.  This incident has had a mental and emotional effect on my being.  At this stage, I realize I cannot expect understanding and forgiveness. I can only pray that this comes in due time.

Interviewed by GMA-7 about the sex video scandal, actress Katrina Halili who was one of the women shown with Hayden Kho in the videos, said with a mix of fury and emotion:

Parang hindi ko alam kasi sobrang nagulat po ako na nagawa niya 'yon eh ... kasi, hindi po ganu'n 'yung pagkakilala ko sa taong 'yon. Sobrang ... nagulat ako, hindi ko alam na gano'n siya ka-demonyo.

The actress also appealed to the other women who appeared in the sex videos, saying:

Sana po lumabas na din kayo ... para naman maparusahan yung mga taong nambababoy sa 'tin."
