The fight between the Philippines' Pambansang Kamao Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Puerto Rico's WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is on!
According to Pacquiao legal counsel Atty. Jeng Gacal, the contract between the two fighters was signed Wednesday, August 12, stipulating a 65-35 purse sharing which naturally favors Pacquiao. Cotto has also agreed to put on the line his WBO welterweight championship belt. The weight limit will be at 145 pounds.
The fight to be held at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Hotel on November 14 will be covered by GMA 7 and shown here in the Philippines on November 15.
As things stand now, Atty. Gacal says that this is the last scheduled Manny Pacquiao fight although he's not discounting the possibility of any future fight after Cotto depending on how that title match turns out.
