In the wake of Senator Noynoy Aquino's declaration of his intention to seek the presidency in 2010, another presidentiable in the person of Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay has announced that he is dropping his own presidential aspirations to give way to opposition unity.
Binay, a close Cory Aquino supporter, has also stated his willingness to mediate in the event that Senator Aquino and former President Erap Estrada sit down and discuss the prospects of unification.
Other presidential hopefuls, however, seem bent on running.
