Serbis, a film by Cannes Film Festival winner Brillante Mendoza won the Best Picture prize at the recent 32nd Gawad Urian 2009. Serbis also won for Brillante Mendoza the Best Director plum as well as Best Cinematography (Odyssey Flores) and Best Production Design (Benjamin Padero and Carlo Tabije).
Veteran actor Ronnie Lazaro was voted Best Actor for his role in Yanggaw while Mylene Dizon's performance in 100 won for her the Best Actress trophy. Rising star Coco Martin was Best Supporting Actor (Jay) and Aleera Montalla, Best Supporting Actress (Yanggaw).
