In this report by Sherry Ann Torres, GMA News paints a vivid picture of the lavish appointments enjoyed by the Arroyo entourage during the recent US trip.
Flying in, they traveled in business class; in Washington, all of them stayed at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel, room rate $349/day (P17,000/day) while in New York, all of them they were billeted like President Arroyo at the Waldorf Astoria, where the room rate is a whopping $599/day (P28,769.14/day) .
This is over and above the controversial dinners at Le Cirque in New York, $20,000 and Bobby Van's in Washington, D.C., $15,000.
