Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Francis Decangchon has spoken publicly saying he feels bad over being blamed for what happened to Belo Medical Group (BMG) former patient Josephine Norcio who complained that she nearly lost her life as a result of infection arising from the hydrogel injected on her buttocks in 2002 and 2005.
In the News on Q report below, Decangchon pointed to a certain Dr. Ronaldo Cayetano as the BMG cosmetic surgeon who performed the original butt enhancement operation on Norcio in 2002 using hydrogel injection. Decangchon said that he did the follow-up operation on Norcio in 2005 because she was not satisfied with her uneven buttocks. He added that he left BMG in 2005 without hearing of any complaint from Josephine Norcio.
Norcio's lawyer, Atty. Trixie Angeles said of BMG and the doctors who performed the operation on her client, "They could not have appraised Josie Norcio. They could not have told her of the risks because at the time, they was no long-term testing yet and yet, they assured her it's 100 percent safe and permanent."
BMG Assistant Medical Director Dr. Filipino Buñag, Jr. defended his company saying they did all they could to help Norcio adding that they could not just come in when another doctor was already handling the case of their former client.
