An explosion rocked the ATM booth of the Union Bank branch in Valenzuela near the corner of MacArthur Highway and Fatim Avenue early this morning.
According to a Union Bank security guard who responded to the incident, they received information at around 5:20 in the morning today informing them of a man acting suspiciously inside the ATM booth. By the time they arrived, he said that the explosion had already taken place. The man responsible for the blast was apparently trying to get cash inside the ATM machine.

In his follow-up report, Oscar Oida said that SOCO and police operatives found no traces of a timing device and other elements of an improvised explosive device leading them to conclude that a pillbox was most probably used in the explosion.
